Ty Lawson Suffers Ankle Injury

Chris Schneider - AP
Denver Nuggets point guard, Ty Lawson left Monday nights game with an ankle injury.  Lawson left the game late in the second quarter with the injury but not before going 5 of 7 from the field, scoring 13 points in only 16 minutes of play.  Lawson has had a pretty solid season so far with over fifteen points and six assist a game.  The Nuggets are in a battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.  If the Nuggets had to pick a time for this injury to happen the week of
the All Star game would be the best time for an injury of this nature.    The Nuggets have two more games before the All Star break against one against the San Antonio Spurs and the other against the Los Angeles Clippers, both are above them in the standings.  After the break the Nuggets have a very important game against the Portland Trailblazers, who trails Denver by just one game.  The good news is early reports coming out of Denver is that Lawson is expected to be day-to-day.
