Rashad McCants said in an interview this week that he is preparing for a "powerful comeback" to the NBA. He said for the last three years he looked for answers he had the whole time and claims he has surrounded himself with people to help him realize his "true self". McCants admits he was not ready for the mental aspect of the NBA. He says he made mistakes and did not have the right people there to support him and help him
make decisions. McCants now sees that when players said the game was 90% mentally and 10% physical, that they were not just spouting out meaningless cliches. He believes mental toughness and staying humble is the key. While he was away from the NBA McCants spent time caring for his mother who was diagnosed cancer. Once her cancer entered remission he began training with several players to prepare for his comeback to the NBA and finally reach his potential.
