Deon Thompson is becoming a leader for ALBA Berlin this year in Germany, much like the leadership role he took on during his playing days in Chapel Hill and last year for Union Olimpija, where he received MVP honors and a championship. Thompson has improved his overall game by playing overseas and in the NBA Summer League.
This season Thompson has led ALBA Berlin to an 11-5 start and third in the league. Thompson is leading the team with 15.5 points and six rebounds a game, he has also played in all 16 games. Thompson claimed Player of the Week honors in December for his 19 points and 11 rebounds effort against the best team in the league, Brose Baskets Bramberg. The season is nearing the halfway point and Thompson is poised to make another run at a championship and MVP honors overseas.
