Former North Carolina Tar Heel baseball player Kyle Seager is having a quiet but productive year. Seager and his stats may get overlooked playing on the West Coast but he has proven himself time and time again for the Seattle Mariners. Seager is batting .272 with 7 home runs and 37 RBIs. He ranks second among third baseman in the American League with those 37 RBIs only trailing the Tigers Miguel Cabrera. Seager was drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft and joined college teammate, Dustin Ackley, who was the Mariners first pick. So far in their young careers Seager has been the one playing like
the second overall pick. Seager has put up numbers that are worth All Star consideration but still has to compete with fan's favorite Alex Rodriguez (Seager has better stats) and Evan Longoria, who is a household name but is currently injured. Hopefully Seager will get the votes he deserve so we can see a Tar Heel in the All Star game.
